You hummed quietly to yourself as you continued decorating for your favorite holiday: Christmas. You loved Christmas as did your best friend Finland (I mean come how how could he not love it, he's Santa!). You felt your face blushing as you thought of your next friend, but you quickly shrugged it off as you hung the stockings.
"One for big brother Sweden- I just hope he likes my decorating- one for little Sealand, one for me, and finally one for Finland," you thought to yourself as you hung them up.
"Aunty _____________! Aunty _____________! Can I help you finish decorating? Please?" A tiny voice asked from behind you and you turned to see your nephew Sealand, who your big brother Sweden had adopted- well if buying someone on eBay counts as adopting that is. You smiled before happily nodding.
"Yay!" Sealand cheered. "Wait for Christmas don't we need a Christmas tree?"
"Well-er- yes, but I doubt I can carry a tree past big brother, I'm surprised he's let me get this far in decorating the house," you said laughing slightly when you realized that you and your brother were total opposites.
He was silent and couldn't be read, you were bubbly and could be read like a book. Sealand whining and begging you to go get a tree snapped you out of your thoughts.
"Please! We need a tree!" He begged.
"Ok, ok, but we'll need to recruit an assistant to help us," you said winking.
"An assistant? How about Finland?" He asked smirking when he saw how red your face got when he said your best friends name.
"Did someone call?" Finland asked walking into the living room.
"Yes, aunty and I need your help to get a Christmas tree!" Sealand said temporarily forgetting wanting to tease his aunt.
"A Christmas tree?" Finland asked his eyes lighting up. "Why didn't you say so before?"
"Uh," you said before he grabbed yours and Sealand hands and pulled you outside to his car. "Where are we going?"
"To get a tree of course," Finland said smiling as Sealand cheered from the backseat.
When you arrived at the Christmas tree farm, Sealand jumped out of the car and ran off towards a huge stack of trees.
"Sealand! Get back here!" You said laughing as you chased after him slipping in the snow.
"Wait for me!" Finland called chasing after you before you both wiped out and landed in a huge pile of snow. "Oops! I'm sorry __________!"
"It's fine Tino (Finland)," you said laughing at his blush when you said his human name instead of his country one.
"Aunty! Finny! Get up! I found the perfect tree!" Sealand cheered as he tried to help you up only to end up falling down himself.
"The perfect tree? Where is it?" Tino asked standing up and brushing the snow off of himself before he helped you up and you helped Sealand.
"This way!" Sealand said dragging you both to a medium sized tree that smelled amazing and was really pretty.
"It's beautiful!" You said in awe that he found such an amazing tree.
"Can we get it? Please? Please?!" Sealand begged making you both laugh.
"Of course," you said assuring him before Tino got to work cutting it down and you helped him carry it back to the car.
Sealand chattered excitedly on the backseat and you sat your mind thinking about how close you and Tino had been and how beautiful his eyes were. You were so last in thought you hadn't realized you were back home until Sealand jumped in your lap scaring the heck out of you.
"So what's the plan?" Tino asked trying to hold back a laugh.
"Oh, uh, Sealand go distract your papa, Tino and I will set up the tree inside them you can help us decorate it," you said trying to not look at Tino knowing your face would start blushing again.
"Ok," Sealand said before he ran inside leaving you and Tino alone.
"W-we better get the tree inside," you stammered growing embarrassed that you couldn't talk right around him.
He nodded and pulled the tree off his car and the two of you managed to get out inside without breaking anything. Once you got it in the tree stand you both took a step back and grinned admiring the beauty of the tree.
"Thanks Tino," you said before you smirked and poked him.
"H-hey!" He stammered startled, "don't do that."
"Do what? This?" You asked grinning before you poked him a few more times.
"Ok that does it," he said smirking before he attacked you causing you to start laughing since it tickled.
"T-Tino! Stop!" You giggled breathless before you opened your eyes, your faces just inches apart.
You looked into his eyes, both of your faces glowing from blushing and he made a nice to kiss you before you both heard a tiny voice behind you and you both broke away from each other still blushing, just having been a spilt second from kissing.
"M-my cookies are probably burning," you stammered belt you hurried off to the kitchen embarrassed.
"Are we going to get to decorate the tree now?" Sealand asked from the other room.
"Y-yes," Tino answered him, "here help me put these on the tree."
You stood in the kitchen your face still on fire as you thought about how close you had been to kissing Finland.
"Th' cook'es ar' b'rning huh?" Sweden asked smirking as he leaned on the counter top.
"S-shush," you stammered turning back around as you put cookies on a pan and put then in the oven.
"I th'nk y' l'ke F'nny," he said bluntly and your face grew redder as you tried to ignore your older brother.
"N-no I don't," you lied, "i-i have to go finish decorating my room."
"St'p d'nying y' l'ke h'm. I'm n't m'd, I th'nk it's c'te," Sweden admitted making you give him a look before you sighed.
"I'm not denying anything, we are just friends," you said before you walked out of the kitchen and upstairs to your room before calling back to Sweden, "and you're welcome for us decorating the house!"
You heard him laugh from down stairs before you hurried in your room and sat down your mind still racing as you went over the events from the day. Was it possible Tino liked you too? Heck, your brother had even said you two should go out so what was holding you back? Was it your fear that maybe, just maybe Tino wouldn't feel the same way and you'd just make your friendship awkward?
"OWWW!" You heard Sealand yell scaring you believe you ran back downstairs to check on him. "Sealand?!"
"I don't know where he is," Tino said walking out of the kitchen looking just as confused as you.
You both searched everywhere before giving up and walking back into the living room to find Sealand sitting on Sweden's shoulders holding something above you and Tino.
"Mistletoe?" You said breathless as you realized what it was.
"Yep! And you know what that means," Sealand cheered grinning.
"You two set this up," you said giving your brother and nephew a look before they both nodded and you turned towards Tino both of your faces bright red again.
"D-do you care?" Tino asked seeming unsure of you wanted him to kiss you.
You couldn't speak so you shook your head no and gave him him nervous smile that he returned before he leaned in and gave you a gentle kiss only breaking it because you both needed air.
"_-________? Will you be mine?" Tino asked nervously before you smiled and nodded making him grin and give you another soft kiss making Sealand cheer before you ask smelled something and you broke apart from Tino eyes wide.
"Tino," you said.
"Kyllä (yes)?" He asked looking confused.
"I think my cookies are actually burning this time," you said everyone laughing before you all realized what you just said and you rushed to the kitchen to put the fire out.
You smiled embarrassed you had actually burnt your Christmas cookies, but Tino just laughed and kissed your forehead as he laced his hand with yours and you realized just how magical this holiday was going to become for the both of you.
